The back camera is capable of HD (720p) video, and the front camera is VGA quality - so you are only looking at about 1 meg. The cameras are mainly aimed at FaceTime and Skype video calling, and aren't really suitable for other use unless you are in very good light.

Ths iPad's cameras are a lot lower resolution when compared to the iPod Touch and iPhone.
