Can I remotely unlock my phone once locked using find my iphone?

My phone was lost and I tracked it using find my iphone. I located it (not where I lost it). I sent a contact phone number, then locked it. Is it true that once locked I can no longer locate using fmip or send messages? I want to keep tracking it. Can I remotely unlock?

You should still be able to find it, send messages, etc. if it is locked.

If it was wiped, as opposed to locked, though, you will not be able to do anything if and when the wipe is completed.

If you ca not remotely 'un-lock' the phone to the best of my knowledge.

If you locked it and can't trace it any more, it's most likely because whoever has it has wiped it, turned it off, or removed the SIM.

It is on 6.1.4 i purchased it off ebay the seller said that the IMEI was bad so i purchasedit cause i live in the Caribbean and once unlocked the phone would work in my country but i cant get passed the apple ID, i wish there was a way to get in contect with the original owner cause i was told that the Phone has to be removed from find my iphone

That's an indication that iOS 7 was loaded on the phone at one point.

Don't know what you man by "the IMEI was bad"... If the IMEI displays as unknown or missing, the phone is a brick. It can't be fixed. If it had iOS 7 on it and was locked using the new anti-theft features, you're hosed even with the original Apple ID and password at least until it's actually released in the fall.
