Movies don't show in my video app on iPad 2

I have transferred three films from disc into my itunes. They are all shown in my itunes library as movies, I have both boxes ticked to sync all movies, the capacity bar shows the videos are in my ipad but when I open my video app it says I have no videos.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Assuming that the movies are in the correct format and will play on the iPad ....

Go to your first home screen and swipe to the right to get to the iPad search feature. Type in the name of one of the movies. When it appears - tap on it and it should start playing. Let it play for a minute or so and then tap Done. Go back to the videos app and see if the movies show up.

Just because the movies will work in iTunes on the computer does not necessarily mean that they will work on the iPad.

Launch iTunes on your computer. Click on the Movies under the Library heading in the upper left corner of iTunes. Click on one the three movies to select it and then from the iTunes menu at the top - go to Advanced>Create an iPad or Apple TV version. That will tell you if it is already in the correct version - or it will convert it for you.

If the movies are in the correct version already - restart the iPad and then see if the movies show up in the Videos App.

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Sorry, I meant to say that it says they are compatible with iPad.

Anyway, tried selecting movie then advanced but 'create iPad or Apple TV Version' is greyed out so I can't select it, does this mean that they are in the correct format?

I have already tried restarting but no joy :0(

I've just been looking in settings and it shows 3 movies so I know for sure they are there, it's so frustrating.......

If the setting is greyed out - then yes - as far as I know - it means that they are compatible. Those settings are greyed out in iTunes when I click on movies that are in the correct format.

You said that the movies were not found in the spotlight search but you are saying that they are showing in the settings - what settings are you talking about? If they didn't appear in the search - I don't see how they could be on the iPad.

You are selecting the movies to sync like this.

If you shoot your own video and import it into your photos app on your computer - like in iPhoto on a Mac - you are correct - they could sync from within the photos tab and then appear in the photos app on the iPad - but that seems a little unlikely from what the OP has already stated about the movies being in the movies library in iTunes.

But .... for the OP's sake - I hope your are correct.

The settings I'm talking about are Settings - General - About. It states that I have 3 Videos which I am assuming are the 3 I have transferred?

I checked which way I had selected the movies to sync, it was different to the way you showed (I had sync movies & automatically include all movies. I have changed it to the way you show and in the process of syncing. Will let you know if it works........

I know nothing about how DRM would affect this. You said that they were digital copies and I thought that meant that those copies could be transferred to another device, but what nate.leal is saying may be the reason it won't work. I will defer to his judgement since I can't speak about how those types of movies are allowed to be used on different devices.
