using atv with windows

I just purchased a new TV included with it was Apple TV. I installed itunes on my pc in order to share files between my pc and ATV but most video files are DIVX or XVID witch are the wrong format for itunes so you cant add them to the libary there for you can't play them with apple TV there are no plug-ins for Itunes to fix this problem on a PC only for Mac is there a work around to fix this problem or should I just toss my ATV in the garbage

Winston yes all of my files are DIVX XVID because that is the only format I can find. Right now I DL my torrents from TV torrents, TD, Bitsoup, and a few others and all their torrents are in this format so not much choice in the matter.I tried to convert the files after they DL but they take forever to convert if you want good quality. As for needing a plug in that was my point there are none for Ituens running on a PC for this format only if you have a Mac. I have no problem opening the files on my PC or burning them to disk and playing them on my DVD player or PS3 because both can play videos in this format but as I said I got the Apple TV for free with my tv so just thougt it would be easier to run them from my pc to tv through ATV rather than burning disk. if you know of a good torrent site to DL from or a faster converter I would appreciate a point in the right direction
