How do I restore my contacts icon

I have just received an Iphone 4 from my company. The first time I turned it on, it went thru the usual setup routine and all was

well. I also still have an Ipod, an Ipad 2 and an Ipone 3GS. All are connected to Itunes on my pc. Life is good, except for one

small glitch. My Iphone 4 has no "Contacts Icon". I don't know how to get it to show. It should have just been there, like on my

other Apple products. I do have Contacts that I can reach when using the phone part and other things, but no Icon on the desktop.

How can I make this thing show up ? Everything else seems fine.

iPhone 4, iOS 5.0.1

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder. Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it. Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Thanks ... I wish that your suggestions had worked, but they didn't.

I have no folders on this phone. After the original setup, the Contacts

Icon never appeared. I thought it was because I hadn't added an mail

accounts at that time (even though I didn't remember having to do that

with my 3GS), but even when I added a mail account (Exchange), the

icon didn't appear. Inside of SpotLight Search, Contacts shows up with

a check mark beside it, like other items in the list. I also tried the reset

your home screen suggestion, but it didn't change anything. I had seen

suggestions on other threads about turning the phone all the off and back

on again and also dialing *228 (Verizon), but neither of those helped either.

Thanks again !

The contacts app is not gone. It can't be deleted. It's on your phone somewhere. Under iOS 6, the default location was in the Utilities folder. I think the folder is called something different under iOS 7 but I don't recall. However, you can access your contacts by opening the Phone app and tapping on the Contacts icon at the bottom. It's the little head in the center.

I Had the same problem with both the iPhone and the iPad. My Contacts icon was nowhere to be found. I began to unclutter my screens and group related icons into folders. When my screens began to be less cluttered and more organized, the Contacts icon appeared on its own. It was if the Contacts icon had been stuck in limbo between 2 screens and show itself without some kind of screen shift. All is well now.
