Feb 12, 2012 1:39 PM in response to roaminggnomeby Limnos,I don't think roaminggnome means literally everything (Windows system files, Internet Explorer, etc.) but just the whole iTunes folder. However, if you already have things on the new computer that are not on the WIndows machine then replacing the iTunes folder on the MBP with the one from the PC will delete all the new MBP files.
Here's somewhat old post but it outlines methods for recovering media from an i-gadget.

If these are iTunes Store purchased items you can download them a second time.

Feb 12, 2012 1:40 PM in response to roaminggnomeby William Huisking1,Dear Roaminggnome,
First, thanks so much for one of the quickest responses I have ever had.
Could you be a little more specific on the Copy from the old computer (PC)?
I did bring the songs over but it appears that there are some on my Iphone that were not in that list (probably because I purchased some direct on my Iphone).
If I connect up to my MBP and sync it directly, I was under the impression that any songs on the Iphone but not on my Itunes would be lost. Before I go forward, I want to make sure I do things correctly...
Thanks,
Skip

Feb 12, 2012 1:43 PM in response to William Huisking1by Limnos,iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
do not confuse moving your whole folder and library with moving just media files as in
iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1449
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the whole iTunes folder and all its subfolders and files intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

Feb 12, 2012 2:08 PM in response to William Huisking1by aquainstructor,be careful with some of the articles, I followed one and it consolidated my songs, lost more than 400 songs that were not originally from itunes but loaded into the library from other sources. It also pulled those songs from playlists, Appeats to be due to a loss of ability to find the file which does not matter to me, what matters is the songs got lost

The simplest way would be to use Setup Assistant on your new macBook,. This runs when you first start up your new Mac.
Likely you have already started it up and passed through all the questions about migrating info from old computer (else you would not be here) so you can use Migration Assistant.
See this for transferring from Windows to Mac.
-> OS X Lion: About Windows Migration Assistant
"Windows Migration brings the following information from your Windows PC (Windows XP SP3 or greater) to your Mac:
- Email: IMAP and POP accounts from Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and Windows Live email accounts are transferred to Mail. Email metadata such as read, replied, and flagged are transferred from Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Mail to Mail in OS X.
- Contacts: Outlook and Outlook Express contacts, and Windows Contacts from the Contact home directory are transferred to Address Book.
- Calendars: Outlook calendars are transferred to iCal
- iTunes library, including music, photos, videos and apps and games for iOS devices, except rentals
- Home directory folders and content, including Music, Pictures, Desktop, Documents, and Downloads
- Browser bookmarks and homepage from Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari are transferred to Safari
- User settings including localization, locale, and any customized desktop picture"
