Problem saving .docx and .pdf copies of files to same folder.

When using Microsoft Office for mac (2008), and trying to save a document as both a .docx and separately as a.pdf, I am told that there is already a file by that name, and that it will be replaced if I save the pdf. I am running the latest version of lion (10.7.3) and have updated both adobe reader and office.

How do i fix this? Thanks in advance!
