Receipt Look Up

I have had my ipod mini for some time however i have problem with my i pod mini which i also have had for some time, my mini has a broken battery inside which will no longer charge under any usb or pluginto wall, i have had the problem for a very long time however i cannot request a new battery without the receipt, this is my problem, i cannot find my receipt because it was in past april when i bought it, i have been for quite some time now without an ipod and with out help, now my one year warranty is almost up and i need to have a receipt look up... is this possible?
