Hello.  I am selling the first MAC eer purchased, a Macbook pro.  It is backed up useing Time Machine.  Before delivering it to the buyer, how do I clear the hard drive of all my files and information?  Thank you.  FRN

Insert install DVD for that Mac.

    Boot from DVD

    Start Disk Utility

    Erase disk.

Your computer shipped with a restore disc. Reboot with that disc in the computer and hold the 'C' key to boot with that disc instead of the hard drive. After selecting the language select Disk Utilities (I think it is under Utilities in the menubar but I'm not positive - been a while since I've done this) erase the drive and then reinstall the OS. When it is finished it will reboot and you can quit the welcome program. It is ready to sell.

If you have any secure data on your computer instead of just selecting the erase option you can select erase free space as well which is a more secure erase.
