Recovering an Orphaned file on a macbook...

I believe a word.docx file I saved was orphaned. I saved it repeatedly, then organized my files into new folders.

Microsoft Word knows it existed yesterday, but can't find it today and neither can I. What can I do?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Microsoft Word for Mac

Use Spotlight Search. You can try to remember the name of the document, or a text string within the document.

Here's how to use Spotlight:

You might also try one of these applications. EasyFind is free, FindAnyFile costs a few bucks. They're both great.
