You cannot e mail a song from I tunes.
From a computer, ( pc) you could create an mp3 version, copy it to an e mail and mail it. But if it is a copyrighted song, that would be a no no.
You can also buy them the song as a gift, and send it to them thru I tunes, if they are apple folks.
When I go to the song, it is already downloaded to my iPad, and I don't know how to buy it for my husband. can you tell me how to get the song to him by buying it?

Yes, but I have already bought that song, so when I am in I tunes there is not an option to buy it again and give it as a gift, is there? When I try to do it, it says "downloaded".

Did you follow the instructions at the bottom of the linked page I referenced above? You need to do this from your PC. Your iPad cannot do it.
