It sounds as if the Time Capsule hard disc is continuouslly spinning. This is not normal. New firm ware miight solve this. Make sure your Time Capsule is connected by eithernet to your computer. Go to Software Updates under the Apple symbol and check for an update for Airport Utilities, if there is one download it, then turn off your computer and Time Capsule and then restart both.
