Q: how do I nuke my macbook hard drive

My startup disk is almost full and I cannot update software. I assume I have to start over?

THis is a second computer, I want to upload the software and wipe it clean.

MacBook, iOS 4.1

    I'm not sure what version of the operating system you are running, but if you want to start over this should help.   http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3910

     

    Also if you want to try and remove temporary files from your machine try deleting

    HD\Library\Caches

    HD\Users\<Your Account>\Library\Caches

    HD\Users\<Your Account>\Library\Cookies

    ....restart computer before emptying trash

     

    That will delete temp files and may give you more space on your machine.
