You could restart holding the Command and R keys so you start on the recovery drive and use reset the admin password. One does have to ask how or why you gave your son the admin password in the first place?
After you restart you will have the options of starting from the internal normal drive, usually named MacIntosh HD, or the recovery drive, Recovery HD. If you choose the latter you will have the choices of Restore from Time Machine Backup, Reinstall Mac OS X, Get Help Online, Disk Utility. You can see if this version of Disk Utility will allow you to simply reset the admin password, may only have the options of erasing the hard drive. If so, backup and just reinstall Mac OS X as that will give you a clean operating system to start from and you can recreate that admin password.
When you restart your computer are you holding down the Command and R keys until you get a screen showing you two hard drive images?
Your equipment information says that you have Mac OS X 10.7.3 installed. If that is the case you should have a recovery hard drive to start from.
If that information is not correct, and you have 10.6 installed the procedure is different.
do i enter these keys when computer is shut or when it is on with locked screen on ?
Startup and hold the Command and R keys down, will restart on the recovery hard drive (actually a partition on the internal drive).
I am confused!.. Every time I restart my MacBook .. The lock screen pops up with message requesting name and password info!
