What's the base latin character font used in Khmer MN font?

I accidentally changed English text to the Khmer MN font. I liked the way the text looked, but I know it's not an English font. What is the actual (or similar) font used for the Latin alphabet characters? It's especially necessary because I want to type an "é."

Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Good idea TomGewecke. I'm after the webfont version of those same Latin characters. I can see the same Latin characters were used in the entire MN range of fonts (Telugu MN, Tamil MN, Bangla MN, Oriya MN , Sinhala MN, Myanmar MN, Lao MN, Khmer MN, Gurmukhi MN) which are included on Macs. I've tried contacting murasu.com to find out if these Latin characters are available in any webfonts.

You would probably have to ask the maker of the font, and it's possible there is no Latin font exactly the same.

It is generally not a good idea to use a font intended for an Asian language to type English. There is no predicting what oddities it may have in the Latin character range, or what other computers which do not have that font installed will substitute for it when trying to read your text.

Thanks, Tom. (Looks like I've caught the attention of the expert on languages other than English. Glad to meet you!)

I get that about the substitutions. That's why I'm looking for the base font to see if there's something I can use consistently. Khmer MN is a font that comes with Lion, so I'd assume Apple would be the maker, but I don't know who I'd ask which is why I posted here. Would you know where to find that info? (By the way I used it for an Illustrator document that I transfered to PDF with embedded fonts, so I hope I'll be ok.)

You can see who makes a font by doing Preview > Show Font Info in Fontbook. Very, very few of the fonts in OS X are made by Apple.

It should work OK in a PDF as long as the font is really embedded. I think Adobe Reader can tell you what is embedded if you open it with that.
