using the 27" imac as monitor

I was told that the imac 27" can input video so that it can be used as the monitor. So can I play my xbox 360 on it?

Here's a artical on using a 27" iMac as a second monitor:

Using iMac As Monitor Requires Very Specific Cable

I'll leave as an exercise for you to figure out the appropriated adapter(s) if you can even use a xbox in this kind of a configuration.

Note this was found googling "using imac as a monitor". There are many other hits which you might want to look over.

I can't say. But I can say look for such things at monoprice.com. For example here's their thunderbolt/mini-displayport to HDMI adapter.

Thinking about this for a moment I am not sure that adapter is what you want. These adapters are not bi-directional. As I understand it you want to go from the xbox into the iMac. The common mini-displayport to hdmi adapters are designed to go from mini-displayport (or TB) to HDMI.

If xbox is outputting HDMI you would need a HDMI to mini-displayport/TB adapter. And that may be a problem finding.
