Strange kernel.log error ?

Hi everyone.

Please. I need help with one thing.

I bought a new iMac 27 and after a wile i had a weird kernal.log error running 24/7

Then i went back to the shop for repair but at the same time i bought another new iMac 27 for a friend and cloned

my HD to it. Now the same kernal.log error shows up on that iMac to ????

I thought it was a hardware failor but now it must be software.

Please if someone knows what this is. I have googled it but no result.

Its just a short take from the kernal.log because it runs 24/7 so it to long to post here. But its the same all the way.

Its not in any folder ? Is a reading from the "About this Mac" system profiler.

In there you have all your info about your mac. Log files, Hardware etc. etc.

There the log archives. System.log and Kernel.log and its in the kernel.log i have this reading.

Something is checking, runnning all the time since the kernel.log writes this all the time.

And i dont have any Blueberry. Goog thinking 🙂 but its not because i dont have any blueberry.

But i dont think iMac has any baseband.. lol

First i thought it was a hardware issue until i cloned the HD to another iMac 27 and then the same error kept

running. So its not hardware related. Gotta be some software.

You don't want to use System Profiler for looking at log files. Use Console.

And is that all you have in the directories I asked for?

Where's the Accounts login items?

One more thing to list. Open terminal, copy/paste the following line and hit return:

kextstat -kl | awk ' !/apple/ { print $6 $7 } '

I hope you rebooted after removing the kext's.

Just to be sure, are the log entries still being created with those kexts removed?

Also, if you boot in safe mode do the log entries get created?

Its really anoying because its doing this 24/7 with only 3-7 min betwine. So thats basecly all night and day.

I have tried everywhere. Google, here, everywhere. No one have a exact answer.

I dont know why i keep thinking of something Baseband related. Because of the BB all the time.

But from what i know. Only iPhone etc have baseband. Not a iMac 27.. lol

I would really like to get this stupid kernal.log to stop. The strange part is its the same thing on 2 iMac 27

As i said earlier. I had one iMac that made this error. It had a broken Airport card so it went to service.

But yesterday we bought i brand new iMac 27 and i cloned the harddive to the new one so i didn't had to

install everyhting again. But now this new iMac also have the same kernel.log error.

First i thought maybe it was something connected to the mac. Firewired HD, USB hub etc. etc.

But it wasn't. I tried that to. So i can only think of someware related now. Gotta be something installed on

the first iMac and now because i cloned it to a new one it also have it.

But i even tried 20 min ago to install Snow Leopard from a fresh Mac OS X install DVD. Same **** thing.

So now i dont know if its something around me ????? It only happen on my iMac 27. Not on my 2 other

Macbook pro also here ??????? I dont get it. HELPPPPPPPPP

Well obviously if you had the problem on system A and cloned it for system B I would expect B to behave the same since you are running the same software.

But it is confusing. It still happens with safe boot so so much for start up items. It happesn with a fresh, not update, install? That's even more confusing.

So what happens if you turn everything off? No ethernet. No airport.

Also, I'm loosing track of what and what not was done. Have you tried doing a pram reset?

Hi bro.

I tried everything. Also PRAM yes.

A new fresh Mac OS X DVD 10.6.3 install and update to 10.6.8 after.

I didn't try to just use a lower build. Maybe i should try 10.6.6 or 10.6.7 just for fun ?

I'm beginning to think maybe my nabo or someone close to me have some kind of

poawersource or something that interfier with my iMac. Its still funny it only happen

on my iMacs. No Macbook pro does this.

Later today i will try a fresh 10.6.3 install again. This time no USB, Firewire. No nothing connected.

And see what happen. But i never found out what the kernel.log error menas ? no one have

any clue what that errors is about.

It is a weird error because it keeps running. It only stops for around 8-12 min. Then it runs for 20 again.

Then stops short again and pick up after 8-12 min again ?

I will try move my iMac away from that spot it is located now. Then do the fresh install and see what

happen. Then i will let you know. And thanks for your help so far 🙂

I'm beginning to think maybe my nabo or someone close to me have some kind of

poawersource or something that interfier with my iMac. Its still funny it only happen

on my iMacs. No Macbook pro does this.

Later today i will try a fresh 10.6.3 install again. This time no USB, Firewire. No nothing connected.

And see what happen.

I also requested in my previous post, no network (ethernet, wireless) either. And keep things as clean as possible, i.e., none of the extra stuff you installed like VirtualBox, Parallels, etc. In other words don't install any of the stuf that addes those login items, launch agents and daemons, and startupitems.

But i never found out what the kernel.log error menas ? no one have

any clue what that errors is about.

I guess I forgot to mention that the log files are not just for errors. Some apps post status or debugging info in them as well. What you show looks just like logging info/status to me, not errors.

One more piece of debugging info. In terminal copy/paste the following and post the result.

nvram -p

I wont't pretend to understand all that you will see but post it anyhow. The reason I asked earlier about resetting pram was to make sure it was in it's initial state. But just for the sake of completeness post this stuff anyhow.

ups. this was from indside "about this mac" logarchive/nvram -xp log.

I dont know if thats the same result. If not i will post the right one when i get back home in a couple of hours.
