You say the adapter will not charge the battery, do you see any lights on the MagSafe connector when it is plugged in? If charging you should have an amber LED on the MagSafe connector. Green if it is running on AC and not charging.

Battery looks good, voltage is low but that could be because the charge is only 2% and the system is protecting itself at that level.

If you get nothing from the charger, take it into an Apple genius bar and have the MBP and charger tested...may only need to replace the charger.

Thank you for your responses. I greatly appreciate it. There is no light at all when I plug it into the computer. But when it is plugged into the computer the screen lights up so I know there is some kind of voltage going into the computer. It has been at 2% for a couple of hours now while I've been attempting to figure this out. My husbands usually does this stuff for me but he is away. We are stationed overseas. Apple says there is a place near our base that I can take it too. But I'm worried there won't be anybody there who speaks English. 😟

If you hve access to an acceptable support Apple recommends, then by all means take it in, both the MBP and charger, and have them check it. Even if there is a lunguage problem, you can usually make it clear what you want, show the computer, charger, plug it in, point out the lack of LED and computer charge level, they will get the idea. See if they don't first pull out a new charger and see if that changes things. If that does, you have what is probably a solution. If it doesn't you can try and work out repair or go back with some one to interpret.

But you do need to do something to resolve the issue.

I plan to go searching for the place in the morning. I hope they can help me resolve the issue because I bought this computer at the end of July last year. I've only had it for 7 months. The computer and the cord are not handled roughly at all. The cord lays in a cool area on the hard wood floor back behind the end table. I am really annoyed that I am having this issue.
