Mobile Data vs. Cellular Data is just different wording for the same thing depending on what part of the world you're in.
Where are you? Who is your carrier? Where did you get the phone? Are you subscribed to a data plan through your carrier? Is your account properly provisioned for an iPhone by your carrier?
My wife and I got the same phones on the same contract with Vodafone in the Uk from the Vodafone store. Her phone has settings called 'cellular data' and connects to data networks and my phone on the same contract has 'mobile data' and only connects to wifi. I have tried all the reboot ideas and connecting it to the computer to check for updates but no success. When out and about it has no data connection to 3G or anything.
Have you tried contacting Vodafone to make sure your data plan is provisioned correctly?
I went back to the store but the guys working there just seemed to think it is a phone settings issue but I will go back to Vodafone directly. Cheers.
