I have a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.8. I transferred my iPhoto Library from my old computer. It worked fine...until I upgraded to iPhoto 9.2.1. Now iPhoto doesn't recognize the Library. iPhoto Library info shows 26.8 MB on disk. iPhoto opens but with no photos as if I am just starting to use it for the first time. iPhoto only works for any new photos I import.

If you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Thanks for your reply, Old Toad, but neither of these fixes worked. Nothing changed with Fix #1 and with Fix #2 there is a message saying, "
Cannot rebuild
This library cannot be rebuilt because its XML file contains no image records."
Any other suggestions?
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
How many Libraries are listed?
Thanks, Terence, but this doesn't work. When I tried this before posting my problem, there was only one Library. After trying the Fixes suggested by Old Toad, there are now two Libraries, one a copy. I can Option launch on either one and the only thing in the iPhoto is the few photos I've added since the upgrade (?) to iPhoto '11. Get info shows there is data both Library files. I just can't access it.

If the Libraries are in the scale of 26 MB as you list in your first post there is no data within. That's just the bare bone structure of the database.
Sounds like you've overwritten or deleted your Library somehow, I'm afraid.

Do you still have your old Mac with it's library? If so copy it again to the Pictures folder on your new Mac and open it with iPhoto.
