Everytime I try to log onto iChat, a message pops up:
I type in my correct password. I know it is the correct password because I log out on my account (on Gmail, not iChat) and sign back in with the exact password. Someone help? Thanks.

When you have logged in to the Google Mail web page does your name there show as username@googlemail.com or username@gmail.com (I can see in ichat you have used @gmail.com)
Whilst it seems that the Mail app can use either and get your Mail iChat needs it to match exactly as it does when you log in to Google itself in a Web Browser.

My name shows as username@gmail.com (is there really a difference between that and googlemail.com?). Funny, the Mail seems to work fine. i used the exact same format (username@gmail.com) for iChat as I do for Mail but to no avail.
Oh, I found the solution!! 😁
I was using Google Chrome. I had to create a application specific password for iChat so I could log on. I generated the code...and entered it in the iChat box where it says password, and viola! Magic. Guess this problem usually occurs in Google Chrome users.
