Bootup problem?

Hey, so my Macbook Pro 13" running on Snow Leopard won't boot properly.

YES, I have tried Safe Boot, which will stop loading about two thirds of the way, and YES I have tried from the Snowleopard disk. It won't boot from regular OR from drive select (hold option at start).

I assume it's computer failure instead of hard drive, because the boot sequence is probbably messed.

It goes to the white screen with the apple logo, and stops there. I hade to shut down because Pages' instant alpha lagged like heck, but nothing strange in console, or activity moniter. After that, it died.

I havent gone to the Genius Bar yet, 1, because they are unreliable (check my last post here:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3604538 (they searched the internet 😼)

and 2, don't have the time at the moment.

Hopefully someone can answer,(have some projects due soon 😝) but other than that I'm stuck.

Thanks again!

Macbook Pro

Sometimes you need to let it run for quite some time as it's repairing the drive.

So holding c or option key and trying to boot off a clean 10.6 disk doesn't work? native keyboard I assume.

This sounds like a EFI issue or a bad disk that's not being recognized, why the Safe Boot shift key works?

Try the other steps like PRAM reset and SMU reset
