I have downloaded the Find my iphone app from itunes. It opens on my iphone, but the app won't open on my Mac so I can register. I must be doing something stupid. I double click the icon, nothing happens. I run OS 10.6.8 on my Mac.

iTunes apps are for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch only. Apps for the Mac are downloaded from the Mac App Store.

Find my iPhone is not available as an app for the Mac, but rather it is accessed from http://iCloud.com.
