I have this question too, isn't there anyone able to answer? Who is ging to help?
Do you mean iCal or iCloud?
You don't. I asked Steve Balmer (CEO of Microsoft) and got this reply from his staff:
Thank you for your feedback and your interest in Outlook for Mac 2011.
Steve's office forwarded me your mail and asked me to reply. Outlook 2011
syncs with Exchange and Office 365 calendars, but as you point out there
is no consumer calendar service that syncs with Outlook 2011. Here's what
I do to work around the lack of direct sync: I keep my family calendar on
Hotmail Calendar, which works great through Safari on my Mac (and also
other popular browsers like Chrome), and syncs directly to my iOS devices
and my PC. I understand your frustration with not being able to see your
personal calendar directly in Outlook for Mac. Contrary to your
impression, we've never promised to add this feature, but we strongly
consider customer feedback like yours as we plan future versions. Thanks
again for your feedback and for taking time to write.
Thank you,
Eric Wilfrid
General Manager, Office for Mac
Is this still true?
There isn't any way to get the almost full Exchange functionality, provided on iPhone or iPad of a hotmail/live/outlook.com account on Outlook 2011 for Mac?
No,
Microsoft chose not to include Dav services in Outlook 2011 (even though the Windows versions have it) so iCloud, Yahoo, Google etc can not be used with Outlook 2011.
Use a proper Mac client, Outlook is one unfunny joke.
After an hour on the phone with AppleCare, and eight hours on the phone and on LogMeIn with Microsoft, and then another hour the next day with a Microsoft engineer, I surrender. I'm not able to sync Outlook with iCal or Notes...only Mail.
I guess all we can do is hope for a fix in the next upgrade.
Microsoft has announced that they have no intention of adding Dav services to Outlook, so don't hold your breath. Or if you must use Outlook and iCloud get Outlook for Windows, bizarrely Microsoft have made Outlook for Windows compatible, but not Outlook for Mac.
Microsoft really like to clear the way for Apple and Google by not even making sure their own products work properly. Outlook for Mac has always been seriously limited unless you hold an Exchange account.
Hello Csound1. I am like many here - relatively new to MAC (MBA 2013) and have MS Office installed as I need word, excel and powerpoint. In your opinion, what is a proper MAC Client? Or do you mean the native ones that come with the MAC?

Yes, they are compatible with iCloud, or if you wish to use Outlook then use MS Exchange instead of iCloud.
You could also look at Soho Organizer, similar to Outlook (but you still need Apple Mail, which you have) and iCloud compatible.
Outlook is not iCloud compatible.
that's pretty weak and represents a work around to another system. just entering the mac world and finding that MS Outlook has a real need to fix this. would recommend with all the noise on this discussion site that you work on a fix to the problem.

Then complain to Microsoft, they are the only ones who can change it.
