Q: Podcast producer 2 - can I customise the RRS feeds to better suit iTunesU?
(I'm not sure this is the correct forum for this issue - it relates to podcast producer 2 on Lion Server 10.7.3)
I've been using podcast producer 2 on OS X 10.7.3 to host collections of assets (videos mostly) and to produce an RSS feed for an iTunesU collection.
- I use Podcast Publisher to create the initial collection
- I use Podcast Composer to create a workflow for submitting assets to a particular collection
- I then use Podcast Publisher to add / annotate new content
(The feed produced by Podcast Producer is given to the iTunesU admin once there are enough assets)
For the most part it works, but I've hit on a couple issues for which I cannot seem to find a solution:
- In the RSS feed, whenever I submit an asset to a workflow, the resulting <author> in the RSS always seems to be the short name of a user. Is there a way to have a custom name in the author field?
- The poster image for the whole collection is always specified as "poster_image.png" in the RSS feed.
This is fine, until you want to update the image for a given collection. iTunesU caches images, and unless the filename in the feed changes, it won't update it seems.
Is there a way to force PCP to use a name other than "poster_image.png" in the feed?
Many thanks.
