Samsung Printers ML-2010 and ML-2510 stop working with OSX 10.7.3

I have 3 Macs (iMac 24", iMac 27" and MacBook Pro 15") each are connected to their own USB Samsung printer (ML-2510 and ML 2010). Since the OSX 10.7.3 upgrade from febuary 3rd 2012, they all have the same problem. The printer is responding, when we send something to print, the printer starts running and then stops before printing anything. The strange thing is that the next time I try to print, it can be OK. I am able to print sometime but not always. This probleme is the same on all 3 computers. I have tryed to reinstall the driver from the Samsung web site and it did not resolved the problems.

Please help me

I had the same intermittent problem with my ML-2510 - started the print job, but then would mysteriously stop before printing it.

As my ML-2510 was a couple of years old, I downloaded the latest driver - which seemed to work initially, but the problem was still occurring:

Removing and re-adding the printer from System Preferences would also sometimes work, but the problem returned.

However, it now appears to be working properly after I followed PAHU's helpful link and reset the printing system

I followed the instructions exactly, and so far so good. I'll post back if I find anything else.

I did this, didn't solve the problem. I have to turn off and turn on the printer. This first prints works fine, but after, it starts with the same problem. So I have to turn on/off everytime i want to print....that's the only way to solve it for now, I have the ml-2010...hopefully it will be better with Mountain Lion or samsung releases new drivers before.

Just to add to the dogpile here: I am having the exact same problems with my ML-2510. I contacted Samsung support via chat. They suggested re-installing the latest Samsung driver, version 2.0. This did NOT work, even with resetting the printing system after the re-install. They then said that they had no other suggestions and that this problem had not yet been reported. The person I chatted with said he would report it but that there was no way to track it.

Let me suggest that everyone who has this problem start a chat and report the issue, so that they finally pay attention and fix it.

You can quickly initiate a chat from here:

Some other possibilities (not sure yet if they work or not for me, but maybe they are good for others):

1) Download the 2.00 version driver from Samsung AUSTRALIAN website (see discussion at http://www.mail-archive.com/wamug@wamug.org.au/msg66996.html):

Australian downloads page: http://www.samsung.com/au/support/model/ML-2010/XST-downloads?downloadName=UM

(NOTE: take care of the driver installation steps inside the "?" tooltiptext of driver description and select specifically SAMSUNG-ML2010 printer driver on your printer driver preferences.)

2) Download drivers from Apple Support Web at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL905

(NOTE: based on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#samsung, seems that ML-2010 driver is NOT included)

Anyway, for me, it seems that the printer driver finishes the printer task BEFORE the printer received all the info to print, and due to that, it prints nothing!.

Good luck !
