There is no (plus sign) in Calendar to add an event.
There is no + (plus sign) in the Calendar app so I am not able to schedule an event?

I noticed they got rid of that feature now if you do not have iCould on. You simply have to re-enable iCloud for Calendars in the iCloud section of Settings. This won't even do anything unless you have this turned on on more than one device.
