i can not install the system software on my powerbook g4 new hard drive

cattus thanks i know about the fire wire thing i have to find or buy a fire wire enclosure for my spare drive. also im going to get a new hd to logic board connector. ill let you know in a couple of days hopefully. thanks again for your help.

You must solve this issue first: disk must be available. It is either damaged or contacts are bad. In practice, you do not have any available disk.

For testing purposes, you may try an external FIREWIRE drive (not USB), and repeat the same steps.

EXternal drive must be connected via FIREWIRE, not USB, mandatory for PPC machines. For the rest, see above, steps are the same.
