No green light on charger and mac will not turn on

You may have a buildup of static electricity in the logic board. disconnect the power cable and hold the power button for 30 seconds then plugin and startup. If that doesn't work, hold the power button for 1 minute, and 2 minutes if necessary. This should discharge any static in the system.

My problem is very similar. For some time the indicator light on the magsafe adapter would either glow orange or not glow at all when it should have been glowing green. Jiggling it would fix it temporarily. Got progressively worse. My computer died in the middle of web browsing - just crashed. Would not turn on. Pushing indicator button on battery caused rapid flashing of one led for about 5 seconds. This pattern was not addressed on battery support page (4 other patterns were). Battery is 4 years old. Had been getting error message about battery but it stated "take your computer in to get serviced". I thought is was good chance battery had finally died and diagnostic circuitry in battery had shut it down. Ordered and received new battery. Would not start up at first but after charging for awhile it did. Not long after condition recurred. Won't start; battery diagnostic light spasdic. Now I don't think original battery was ever shot. Have green light on magsafe all the time, but tranformer on charger stays cold; ditto for computer battery. Thing that contradicts analysis that charger is shot is that it added enough charge originally to enable startup of computer. It's 3 hrs. to nearest Apple store. My bet now is that its the magsafe adapter (charger). Only concern was original error message that stated COMPUTER should be taken in for servicing. Before I spring for second investment, does anyone else understand symptoms and agree it must be the adapter or should I make an appointment at genius bar in Columbus?

Guys I once read a similar discussion... And it had a solution too, but I was dumb enough to not do the needful at that moment.....I am also facing the same problem of no light on MagSafe and no response whatsoever from MacBook Pro .... Any solution please let me know..

Yep, it's likely just a SMC issue, reset it and let it power up.

Make sure the connection is snug on, sometimes it doesn't quite connect. 🙂

DO a SMC reset and let it charge up for quite some time, if it doesn't work then take both in for service and/or get a new Magsafe.

Did new charger solve your problem? If so I'm going to order one
