does logic create a take folder for multiple midi/virt instrument takes?
I have seen the docs for a take folder automatically happening for audio, but does it happen for virtual instrument takes?? If so, how do you turn it on, so to speak??

Go to Settings:Recording and change the 'overlapping recordings' setting to 'Create Take Folders'.
Note that with MIDI Takes, you cannot "Quick Swipe Comp", you can only choose one take from the bunch.
The workaround is to split the Take Folder into chunks in the Arrange.
