podcast not deleting from iphone

I started to download a podcast from my Iphone. After realizing I did not want that particular podcast, I attempted to delete the podcast before it had finished downloading. It did not seem to respond to my cancelation attempt. Now I can't delete this podcast using the normal swipe mehod. It also shows up as already being downloaded from the iphone itunes. If I turn on airplane mode the podcast will not play, meaning that it is not actually downloaded to my iphone but instead is just some permanent bookmark to stream from itunes. I attempted to connect to my PC but these podcasts due to not even show up after sycing via the PC iTunes. How do I delete these things?

Go to Settings>General>Usage>Music. You can swipe right to left and delete the corrupted podcasts there.

Worked fine to me. But somethings on internet waste time, you have to be patient to find what you need. About five days to get the right solution.
