You need a wireless base station connected to your internet router.

The wireless base station will allow you to use your iPod Touch via wifi without a computer that has wifi.

If you want to make your MDD wifi capable, an Airport card, a wireless PCI adapter or a wireless USB adapter may be used.

This will not, however, remove the need for a wireless base station.
