Audiofire 12, Logic 9, clicking sounds

Hello everyone,

I have been using Logic 9 and an Echo Audiofire 12 for some months without any problem. Since a couple of months I have been hearing random clicks on the output channels. They just started to happen at some poit a couple of months ago for no obvious reason. These clicks are not in the recorded audio, they start off very slightly and it gets worse and worse. Restarting the Audiofire helps, but in the long term thats not really an option. Another sympton, but rarer is that I get no audio at all on playback, and the only thing that works in that case is again, a reboot of the Audiofire.

Since then I have tried a number of things to get rid of the problem but nothing is woking. I have upgraded to the latest version of Logic, I have gone back to Logic 9.0.0. I upgraded (reluctantly) to Lion a couple of days ago, I have changed all the audio and firewire cables, but still the clicking sounds start happening during playback.

It seems that another user has suffered the precise same issue <https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452679> but no solutions has been published.

Can anybody shed some light here, its starting to drive me crazy !

Thanks !
