can you take apart the magic mouse for cleaning

My mouse is starting to do thing on its own, such as making the screen size zoom out of controll. Before replacing I thought I might try to clean the inside but I'm not sure you can take it apart.

No you cannot take it apart but here's some ideas on what you can clean...

Clean the optics on the bottom of the mouse (near the on/off switch).

Use a piece of paper (or better, small postit notes) to slip into the gap between the top and base (the crack that closes when you click the mouse). The sticky edge of postits is the better edge to use but with paper or posted, try to work the "gunk" that can accumulate in the gap out (or stick the sticky edge of a postit).

Note, I am not sure what problem could cause zooming and cleaning is probably not going to address that.

That cleaning technique seemed wo work for me. I was considering a silicone spray, which I frrequantly use for cleaning, but most of the mouse is plastics, which could react with the silicone carrier. A dry technique like the postit paper is perfect, because it contains a minimum of pressure-sensitive adhesive (sticky stuff). Hope it lasts.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks! I suddenly had an issue with my Magic Mouse getting sticky...the button would not release immediately, as if there was some spoo inside. I tried your Post-It suggestion (something I used to do with the older keyboards) and there is definite improvement. I was about to try alcogol on a swab, but worried about the 'lectronics inside.
