Unknown error -1202

I can't do anything in iTunes without getting the following message:

We could not complete you iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred. (-1202) There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.

Can someone help me with this? I just downloaded and installed the latest version of iTunes; it didn't help.

FIXED!! I had this exact problem. I followed a couple of the other threads, I tried everything, latest version of iTunes, etc., etc....this fixed it. It has something do to with the root cirtificates on your PC. The Microsoft link below has a lot of information....just page down to "FIX IT" and it makes the changes for you. Restart computer, and the problem is FIXED!!

I spent five hours yesterday trying to resolve this issue, by researching on the web and carrying out the following:

checking date and time

disconnecting microsoft security essentials

unchecking "server certificate revocation" in ie9

Uninstalling and re-installing all itunes components in the correct order (twice - just in case)

Full system restore.

None of this worked!! So I wrote to apple for help and they referred me to the microsoft knowledgebase link above.

I too scrolled down to "Fix It" and this did the trick.
