If you go into your settings then click on iCloud and scroll down to where it say calendar and click the switch thingy your events will return. Well they did for me anyways.

I have this problem too. I sync'd my iPhone 5 to my laptop last week and ALL my calendars and contact from my iPhone were deleted - spoken to both Ireland and USA and still no joy - this is vey embarrassing as I have lost important meeting dates no one knows why !! The calendar events are on my laptop. It has only happened since last week . I want a system where events added to the phone sync to the calendar and visa versa!!!!!!

Try going to CALENDARS and activating each individual one. Works for me. GOOD LUCK.

Open CALENDAR go to the function where you open new calendars ( you know where you assign Colours and label new calendars and activate each separate calendar. WORKS FOR ME.

What do you mean by "activate" the calendar. I added a new calendar for Dr. Appts. for my kids then went in to change the calendar these previously scheduled events were stored in. After making the change the events are gone. I went back in to my calendars as mentioned above but I don't know what it means to activate the calendar.

Hi - when you open the calendar and select calendars at the bottom of the screen you should see your list of calendars, If there is checkmark to the left of all of them, they are all activated. if not, just tap the calendar name and it will add a checkmark to the left to activate it. when done click on done in the upper right of screen. or, above the list of all of your calendar, you will see a toggle "show all calendars" or "hide all calendars". By selecting show all calndars, it will put a checkmark to the left of all of them. good luck :-)

This seemed to work for me.  At least for the last 2 minutes.  I didn't have iCloud activated, and once I did I was able to accept the appointments and have them actually show up in my calendar.  3 hours! sigh.

    Thanks for your help.

Figured it out on my end!

Settings > Reminders > Sync > All Reminders

All of my calendar events just showed up again!

Woot! I'm so excited.. Hope this helps.

Go to Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calender.

Look under Accounts.  You may have more than one, icloud and perhaps gmail or some other. I did not even realize I was filling my calender in a gmail account until I discovered my solution. Tap on your other account(s). Turn Calenders switch on. For some reason this switch seems to get turned off when I get upgrades. If this switch is not on it will not appear when you tap 'Calenders' in the calender app, so that approach doesn't work. Had me stymied for a while. At any rate, when I turn that setting back on, I get my dates back. Might not be your issue, but I hope it will help some on this forum.  Good luck.

I also love that our Apple friends pay absolutely no attention to this Apple sponsored site.  Just got a new PC and am looking forward to changing out pad and phone.  Bought my last iCrap.

    Don't worry, man.

The lost iphone calendar also can get them back, cause they still stored on your iphone.

If you have backup from your iphone, you can retrieve them from iTunes backup files.

If haven't, try some ios data recovery, like iPubsoft iPhone Backup Extractor.

THANK YOU for this. All the other suggestions didn't do a thing. FINALLY- your suggestion worked. Have no idea how this came about? Very confusing. Didn't change anything recently... Anyway, THANKS AGAIN!!

Try going to Settings>ICloud and turning the Calendar switch on. It should bring all your events back AND allow you to add events. It worked for when it happened to me...

This worked for me, thank you very much!  Left now wondering, why, why did this happen??  I rely on my calendar and when back to check on when something occurred and it was GONE.  Now restored....

If you have made a backup for your data before and it contains your lost calendar, then you could certainly restore deleted calendar from iPhone

    1. Connect your iPhone with iTunes on computer

    2. Right-click or control-click on the iPhone icon under iDevice on iTunes

    3. Select "Restore from Backup" from the given options

    4. After it finishes, your data are back to your iPhone
