Panasonic AJ-D250 firewire audio capture problems with FCP 5

I have had the same issue with my AJ-D230... But It also happens when digitizing Audio off a mic (non-controllable device) - I think it may be my AJA-IOla - I have updated the firmware on that and it has seemed to help, but I only did it recently and haven't fully tested it yet...

Please let me know if you find out the answer and I'll do the same...

My Answer; I use a G4 Dual 1 gHz and FCP HD to capture. Then move the files to a G5 Quad and FCP5 for editing.

Not letting Apple beat me!!!

This same problem has completely crippled my production house. I "upgraded" all of my machines to FCP Stuido 5.0.4 and i can no longer capture anything using my Panasonic AJ-D50 or AJ-D230 decks. Anything we capture is radically out of audio sync. We have tried everything and talked to techs at Apple and Panasonic. Apparently Apple no longer supports the decks.

I tried a workaround using a machine running FCP3 to digitize, but when i bring the files into FCP5 it sees my split-channel audio as stereo audio.

Has anyone found a solution? I find it hard to believe that all of my expensive equipment is now useless with FCP.

Same problem here at Penn State, 5 decks rendered useless. Spoke to Apple people at NAB and they essentially told me I needed to speak to Panasonic. Spoke to a service rep at Panasonic (who was quite helpful) that was not aware of the issue but directed me to some engineers who work on the product. I'll post if I learn anything from them.
