I have a Lexus 2006 GS300 with Navi System. My iphone 4 connects to the vehicle via bluetooth and it works well with making and receiving calls. However I tried to upload my iphone contacts to Lexus, it comes with issue. The vehicle asks me to transfer contacts from my phone. But iphone does not have such capability in sending contacts via bluetooth.
Does anyone manage to do this? Or any third party apps are required?

Check this document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647. It appears the iPhone supports the phone book profile, however since the Lexus is an older one, the bluetooth profile in the car may not match what the phone has now. Check with the Lexus dealer to see if there is an update to the car's profile.
I tested my iPhone 4 with a 2011 Hyundai and it was able to upload the phonebook just fine. I've read of others uploading the phonebooks to vehicles, but the list is varied. Again, it could be the car's profile that is restricting this.

Well, as I mentioned, there was not support in the iPhone early on to transfer phone contacts. However, now it is supported. The test I did was a transfer via bluetooth, so I know that works. Again, it may be the way the 2006 Lexus did the transfer. Instead of it being a regular bluetooth phonebook transfer using the current protocol, it was a file transfer which iPhone bluetooth has never supported. Good luck with the dealer.
Understood. However I am in China. Most of the Chinese car dealers can help you nothing after selling the car but ripping you off. Maybe they will ask tons of RMB to update the vehicle's profile. 🙂
