Can I change MacBook's Intel?

I have a MacBook Aluminium (Late 2008) running OS X 10.7.3 with an Intel Core 2 Duo and a 4GB RAM installed. I want to change the processor from Intel Core 2 Duo to Intel Core i5.

Can I do it? Or, could you please tell me some information. 😕

Thanks! 😁😁

Sorry, no. The CPU is soldered to the main board.

There's a whole host of reasons why you can't do this. Apart from the major problem that stedman1 mentioned regarding the chip being soldered directly to the logic board (with nearly 500 pin/solder points), the Intel Core "i" series processors are not compatible with the Core2Duo series chipsets. You also need to consider that the new Core "i" processors have a GPU integrated into them. There are significant hardware differences between the logic boards for the Core2Duo and the Core "i" series. Even if you could swap the processor, it wouldn't work.
