Be sure that you running Vista with at least Service Pack 2 or higher. Then, download and install AirPort for Windows, with Administrator priviledges on your Vista PC.
Have downloaded Airport for Windows. where do you find Administration priviledges if you cant open software?

Right-click on the AirPort Utility, and then, choose the option "Run as administrator" from the pop-up menu.
Have followd your instructions but I do not get a pop up menu with "Run as administrator"
What next?

The version of Vista that I have available to me is Vista Ultimate. I don't know if the "Run as administrator" option is available in all versions, but I believe it is.
Just to be sure. You are able to install the AirPort Utility, but not launch it correct? If so, and you right-click on the AirPort Utility icon, do you not get the "Run as administrator" option in the pop-up menu?
I am afraid the answere is no. I am running Vista Home. When I right click the onlyreal choice I get of changing any thing is through properties?
Unfortunately the problem may be that the AirPort Utility does not support this particular version of Vista. However the operating system requirements on the link that I provided earlier only call out that you are running Vista with Service Pack 2 installed ... is that your current configuration? If it is, then you may need to borrow another computer to do the administration of the base station.
Hi
I have already gone down that line, setting up system with a laptop with exactly same Widows Vista Home and getting it to work,I then transfere set up using a stick, but once on my computer the same thing happens.
I get the following message.
THE INSTALLER ENCOUNTERED ERRORS BEFORE AIRPORT COULD BE CONFIGURED.
YOU SYSTEM HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED
any ideas
I would suggest creating a new user account on your laptop. Log-off, and then, log-on with the new user account. Try installing the AirPort Utility while logged-in with this new user account.
As I have a continous green light on my airport express plug in, could the problem be with iTunes? do I need to sync with wi-fi and how do I get multipal speakers at the moment it only plays through computer
do I need to sync with wi-fi and how do I get multipal speakers at the moment it only plays through computer
AirPlay can use either wired or wireless media to stream iTunes ... so Wi-Fi isn't absolutely necessary. To stream to more than on AirPlay device simultaneously, you would just select the Multiple Speakers option in the AirPlay menu.
sometimes i get the icon when I open iTunes but not always, when I click on icon it shows only speakers on computer as ticked. Where is the airplay menu? dont say in Airport Utilities
By AirPlay menu, I am referring to the menu that shows up when you click on the AirPlay icon indicated on the graphic I provided. If iTunes finds any AirPlay speakers it will show up in this menu along with the Computer option.
