Headers linked on multiple pages in document. How do I unlink?

I have a document that is 16 pages and I am trying to have the header on each page be different. There are 4 pages in question which are linked and I cannot give them separate titles. If is highlight one, then all 4 are highlighted. I have searched this forum to see if there is a solution and I can only seem to find the directions for not using previous headers and footers under inspector. I have gone through every page to make sure they look like the following:

Info for all pages:

Under Inspector -> Layout tab -> Section

  • First page is different IS checked
  • Left and right pages are different IS checked
  • Use previous headers & footers is NOT checked

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thank you kindly,

Jessica

Headers are the same in each section, with the exception, if you choose, of first page or left and right.

You just need to insert section breaks and go to:

Inspector > Layout > Section > uncheck Use previous headers and footers

Why are you using the headers anyway if they have to be different on every page?

Headers are used to keep running information the same from page to page.

Just use a headline.
