Says Safari cannot download file. It is a zip file from my college and says it is for ipods. I just purchased the Ipod Touch for this purpose so could just be the operator. Any suggestions?

Without knowing what this file is, I can't provide specifics. But one way or another you need to get it to computer you use to sync your iPod; whether you email it to yourself, transfer it to the computer via a USB flash drive, or just download it on the computer you use to sync your iPod is up to you.

Beyond that I'd need to know what the "file" is for to provide further advice. If the web page this file is on is public, post the URL and we can see if we can figure it out.

Regards.

The link is on Colorado State University Ramct Student Login. Please see below. We are to click on the iPod link and save the file. I usually click on the High Speed link on my laptop but when I tried for the iPod, it wanted me to download Silverlight but that didn't download either. The file name is 201210_BUS630s5iPod.zip.part but I cannot open it on my computer either. Sorry, I did not see a way to attach a file.

Your image didn't post. You need to use the "camera" icon in the toolbar when you're composing a message here and select the picture you want to upload.

Please post the URL to the web page from which you're trying to download this file. I've looked at the RamCT Student Login page and there's no download there that I can see, nor can I find any other mention of iPods other than the BlackBoard Mobile app which you get from the iTunes Store.

https://ramct.colostate.edu/webct/entryPageIns.dowebct Once you are in go to the link (middle of page) titled BUS-630-001-801-2012SP-COB Information Management-Combined-2012SP. Then go to the icon that says Course Sessions. Click on week 5 then the lecture icon that says Session 5. That is where you will see the options to down load our lectures. I usually use the high speed connection but since I purchased the iPod Touch, I thought I could download the ipod file.

As to the file, you need to ask your professor about this. There's no way for any of us to be able to tell with any certainty what sort of file it is and so tell you how to get it onto your iPod. I'm guessing that you would need to download it on your computer, unzip it (a Mac can unzip the file if you just double-click on it; a Windows system will need an unzip utility), drag it into iTunes, and then sync it to your iPod, but that's just a guess.
