Ton über HD-Kabel?

Hallo Apple-Freunde,

bin jetzt neu hier, wenn auch schon viele Jahre MAC - Anwender ...

Mein McBookPro (ganz neu, Ende 2011) hat HDMI-/DisplayPort-Ausgang. Trotzdem läuft kein Ton über HD-Kabel mit Adapter im TV, sondern nur das Bild vom Video ... Im Ton-Fenster der Systemsteurung erscheint auch nur der interne Lautsprecher. Kann das am Adapter zum Miniport liegen? Jedenfalls geht das HDMI-Kabel bei PCs mit Ton und Bild.
