Is there any way I can run a Magic Trackpad using OS X 10.5.8. ??

No, Support for the Magic Trackpad started with 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard).

yes, i can confirm it will work under leopard (10.5.7 even),
but you'll lose the magic. In other words, it will be a simple point and click trackpad. No 2, 3 or 4 finger business.
