Body of email message doesn't show

My iPad 2 opens messages, but doesn't show the content...just the address and subject. It leaves the main body area blank. I can click on 'reply' and then I can see the body of the message. I've tried deleting both of my email accounts and setting them up again, but the same thing happens.
