Rented movie will not play

iTunes for Windows: rented movie won't play.

Rented a movie tonight to watch with my family. Movie downloaded okay, but would not play. I could see the chapters and movie appeared to be playing, but no video or audio. Seached for 3 hours for resolution and missed family movie night. Want to pass this along as I was finally able to find a fix.

Deauthorized computer then reauthorized. Rented movie played right away. Hopefully the kids can watch it sometime tomorrow.
