netflix on my 2nd generation ipod needs 4.0.
I am trying to find out how to update my Ipod touch to have OS. 4.0. I have done all the updates on itunes but am still only running a 3. version. Any suggestions?

What version of iTunes do you have? You need 10.X.
Are you sure you hav a 2G iPod? A 1G can only go to iOS 3.1.3. If your does not have a speaker or bluetooth it is an 1G. You can also tell by the shape of the black anetena cover on the back. See:
