Is MacKeeper alright?
Can I use MacKeeper? Or is it spam? I wonder as they use advertising's but they are free to download...
So is it okay to download MacKeeper or should I not use it?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2), End 2009

No. It is NOT alright to install MacKeeper. It is worthless scamware. All it does is cause problems on a Mac.

I unfortunately hit a site with MK in my face yesterday. I quickly escaped.

Run away
I love it and it's awesome! I got a report the other day that it saved me from 20 different virus infections on my Mac OS X!
Actually.... no, it didn't really do that.
As everyone else mentioned, avoid this like the plague.
Mackeeper keeps you from enjoying your Mac 😉
Keep away from this scamware/scareware!!!!!!
The best protection for your Mac is common sense.
If you didn't specifically request something, don't
install it! If a site says, for instance, you need
Flash, go to Adobe and see if you do, and if so
get it from there.
Don't install it!!! Don't even look at it! Just leave it alone! Apple spend years and millions on making it so that you don't need stupid software like 'MacKeeper'
I unfortunately installed it and it screwed up my Mac! It took me the better part of a whole day to uninstall and find all the little file ext associated with 'MacKeeper'. it buries itself so deep in your system!!!! with a bit of determination i managed to eradicate this malicious little *******!!!!

Let your Mac decide if it needs it or not.
