Default Desktop Icon Size
What is the default desktop icon size for the 27" iMac?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Click on your desktop and bring up the Finder View Options for the the desktop (Finder View menu, Get Info, or use command J). You can see and set the icon size from there.
