Q: Trying to hook a 3.06GHz intel core 2 duo imac to an apple studio display (M7649) using an apple mini display port to DVI adaptor and an apple 205W power adaptor (model M5849). The screen powers up, but is black. Any ideas?

I'm trying to hook a

3.06GHz intel core 2 duo imac to an

apple studio display (M7649) using an

apple mini display port to DVI adaptor and an

apple 205W power adaptor (model M5849).

I also tried hooking it to an older cinema display with the same results.

In both cases, the screen powers up (the light goes on), but is black, and is not recognized when I try to "Detect displays" in the Display control panel.

Both screens work fine on my old G4 towers.

Any ideas on why my imac is turning it's nose up?
